Pastor T. S. Void
Rev. Tashara S. Void is a graduate of the Interdenominational Theological Center (ITC) with a dual Masters of Divinity and Masters of Arts in Christian Education (MACE). She served 3 years as an AmeriCorps member developing and implementing mentor and volunteer management programs in school districts, non-profit organizations, and corporations across the state of Virginia. Her 4th year was spent increasing collaboration among non-profit, governmental, and community organizations to increase revitalization efforts in housing, education, employment, and health on the Westside of Atlanta.
Throughout her tenure in the AME Church, she started several youth and young adult organizations: the Children’s Church, the O.M.G. Intergenerational Choir, and Transforming Thursday’s (a young adult spiritual formation group), and the Budding Butterflies (a young women’s mentoring group). She served as a writer and for the AME Christian Education Department (AMECED) Writers' Guild, developing quarterlies for juniors, intermediate, seniors, and adult lessons. She was one of 3 co-creators for the Liberating Faith Studies (LFS) and worked with the AME Publishing House as the inaugural teachers’ trainer to facilitate seminars on innovative strategies to teach virtually and set up virtual church school spaces. She facilitated workshops on creating and maintaining a viable christian education program and engaging youth & young adult ministries. She is currently a contributing writer for The Christian Recorder, a facilitator at the 2nd District Summer Summit (where she has taught at the 2017, 2018, 2019, and 2022 summit), and was recently appointed as the adult coordinator for the summit.
She has been a member of the Richard Allen Young Adult Council (RAYAC) since 2005 when there was a Connectional push to reactivate the group. She started a young adult ministry in both her local church and within her conference, additionally serving on the board of the District RAYAC. She currently holds the position of Connectional Public Relations Chairperson, where she oversaw the #ETiUT Initiative (Everyday Things in Uncertain Times) and facilitated the Learning Lab “Who Are You?” guiding participants through steps to activate and implement an effective RAYAC in their local church, conference, and district. On July 2, 2022, elected the Chaplain of the International RAYAC.
She facilitated small groups for young adults 18-30 on vocational discernment and spiritual formation with the Forum for Theological Education (FTE) and is currently working on a research project God, Self, and Mental Health looking at the effects of ministry on the mental health of faith leaders. She served as a Chaplain Extern at Prisma Health in Columbia, South Carolina and will begin her Chaplain Residency at the VA Hospital in October.
She was a member of the inaugural cohort for the Community Leadership Academy for the Social Sector developing a project to enhance the impact of social justice efforts of faith-based organizations within the local community and is a graduate of the Inaugural RISE Together National Mentorship Network Class of 2020.
During the 2020 global pandemic, she launched a virtual bible studies cohort, Family of Faith, with a team of pastors and clergy across the 2nd, 7th, 9th, and 13th districts who meet every Tuesday for personal spiritual formation before alternating teaching assignments on Wednesday evenings. She launched her own business Qurious Theologian Academy, a space for all who strive to be effective, efficient leaders through technology, teaching, training, texts (writing), and technical assistance.
Her greatest joy is her daughter Olivia Imani.
